I am in the process of cleaning up my basements and getting ready for maybe a garage sale, I went into my 6 huge bins of comics that I didn't look into in almost 10 years. As I flipped into the many comics, I realised now many did suck big time. Most are from the early 90s and they didn't age well, art and story wise.
Manga and Anime was new and rare, hard to find at the time. Me and one of my brothers, we would buy anything related to manga at the time. Some are easy to reconaised, even today, some not. Also, there is the Wannabees... Mostly from Antartic Press. They were a favorite of mine at the time. Ben Dunn, created NINJA HIGH SCHOOL, a comic series that sorta ripped off manga and anime from the time (I am trying to be nice here). Amusing at the time, as I got any special related issues as the main series. The cool thing, it's they published many of the same artists of that circle of comics publisher. I am sure they had lots of fun doing it.
BUT something that just hurks me a lot today, as I looked into the pile of comics... Most are very SELF-REFERENCED, and totally are comics of it's time, and it's time only. Most look like old bad fan comics of a some bad anime. Most didn't age well... Not very well indeed..
Now, I wonder how many comics I will sell for a penny each or even give them away....
I will do some digging to see how much most are actually worth, but my understanding, I don't think they are many people even my age would get thoses for nostalgia reasons... I will not be surprise to needing to dumped them to a charity or sell them 5 for 10 cents at my garage sell.
